Going on Safari: Elephant Walk, Prey Tell and Exotic Encounters
Yesterday’s post unveiled a mani with I’m Not a Lion from the China Glaze On Safari Collection. I have a collection purchasing problem. I get every polish whether I like them or not. Growing up, my mother and her best friend would do the same thing with Pfaltzgraff Yorketowne dishes. We had special dishes for one cob of corn, bowls made for chili only, and fourteen sizes of gravy boats. Did we need these things? No. But they were must-haves. My polish obsession is no different.
So I’m going to force myself to use all of the On Safari polishes…the good, the bad and the ugly. Here’s a pic of the ridiculousness going on in my personal polish room. I seriously did not know I was getting the display too. It just showed up. I swear.
So my next On Safari mani, Striped Elephant, features Elephant Walk (gray), Exotic Encounters (teal) and Prey Tell (burgundy). I used french manicure tip guide stickers to tape off the stripes.
I was really looking forward to Elephant Walk because I love gray, but it was really green on me. It has a slight shimmer. Prey Tell is deep, vampy burgundy so I wouldn’t wear this on it’s own in the summer, but it will be a nice alternative to black polish in the fall or winter. I like Exotic Encounters, but I have a few dusty teals already. Overall, these were decent adds to my stash, but nothing I’m crazy about. What do you think?
I knocked out three of them in one post! Four down, eight to go!
The On Safari masterpieces (in my own mind) so far…
Disclosure: I have no material connection to the products used in this post.

Aaah beautiful rainbows of polish storage :)
Some people prefer to keep their polish in Helmer’s so they’re not constantly rearranging when they get new polish…but to me…THAT’s the fun part!
I don’t particularly like how greenish the grey is. I was looking forward to getting it till I saw it in store. I think that’s HILARIOUS that you are so collection crazed that you got the display as well!! Oh gosh, I would die if that was in the box when I opened it. First sign you have a problem-they treat you as if you were a salon! Jk, I’m the same way when I have the money for it. It bothers me to have a partial collection.
I’m glad I’m not alone! :)
