China Glaze Jungle Queen
Sometimes you just have to polish your nails…plain and simple. So in post four of the On Safari safari, I have Jungle Queen. It’s a dark, grayish purple with a pretty violet shimmer. It’s definitely a Fall/Winter color; although, I’ve kept this mani on for three days (in the middle of the summer) so that in and of itself is a glowing report!
The shimmer isn’t visible in most lighting. You can see the slightest bit of cuticle drag (where the polish “pulled” itself away on the second coat), but this isn’t the polish’s fault. It would be easily remedied by not being in such a hurry between coats [guilty].
You can see a little more of the purple here.
The last two pics were taken with flash. This is where the polish gets interesting!
The other On Safari masterpieces (in my own mind) so far…
- Lioness (I’m Not a Lion)
- Striped Elephant (Elephant Walk, Exotic Encounters and Prey Tell)
- Mixed Doubles (Manhunt)
Disclosure: I have no material connection to the products used in this post.

I saw the Safari line of China Glaze yesterday at the beauty supply store. I really like Elephant Walk. The polish you have on is very lovely and I like the hint of purple in it.
I’m surprised how much I like Jungle Queen given it’s the middle of the summer. I was looking forward to Elephant Walk more than any others…but it was just too green on me.
i was really drawn to this color in your photos because I thought it was a pretty dark grey creme, but I see the shimmer now…. even prettier. I have to give the Safari collection a second look. Pretty!
I’m so glad I found your blog! I love the concept and your nails and photos are amazing! With this color, it looks an awful lot like Chanel Paradoxal (one of my HG fall/winter shades). Have you compared at all?
Deborah, I’m so glad you found my blog too. :) thanks for the kind words. I haven’t compared this one to Chanel…but now I’m on a mission.
