Fall Dots with China Glaze On Safari
This is post five of the China Glaze On Safari safari. I’m finding it difficult to appreciate these manis when it’s hot and sunny outside. But then I did this one. And even though it’s composed of autumn colors, I’m loving it right this minute.
Again, I took a cue from the amazingly talented Sarah at Chalkboard Nails. I looked at the On Safari polishes I had left to test and her Gradient Dot Manicure immediately came to mind. I started with a base of two coats of Kalahari Kiss. Then dotted on Call of the Wild and Adventure Red-y. This color combo is fab and all three are part of the On Safari Collection.
This is so simple. I didn’t even use dotting tools. Just a sewing pin stuck in the eraser end of a pencil and a small sewing needle.
Just three colors left! I’m wearing something obnoxiously bright when I’m finished!
The other On Safari masterpieces (in my own mind) so far…
- Lioness (I’m Not a Lion)
- Striped Elephant (Elephant Walk, Exotic Encounters and Prey Tell)
- Mixed Doubles (Manhunt)
- Jungle Queen (Jungle Queen)
Disclosure: I have no material connection to the products used in this post.

Your dotticure looks great! I really want to try to dot gradient, it is such a chic look. I was swatching my On Safari polishes last night and you’re right, its hard to really appreciate how awesome it is when its so bloody hot outside! It was 115 here last week… and hotter in some parts of town!
I just read your great news! Yeah! It makes 115 seem like no biggie. :)
Thanks. :)
It rained here the last day or so, so now it’s hot and humid. Us desert dwellers don’t like humidity at all! Lol
What a great, great manicure! And it looks doable even for someone without super skills. Now I can’t wait for my mail man to bring the Safari polishes!
Thanks! My poor mail man…he has to lug packages to my door a few times a week.
eeeeeee! That is awesome! All it would take is a bright school bus yellow & it’d work for summer :P
It’d look awesome on my left hand… still working on the abilities of the non-dominant hand :(
Thanks! This was so easy that it actually looks better on my non-dominant hand because I got the hang of it. :)
