Fill ‘er Up: China Glaze Sun-Kissed and I’m with the Lifeguard

Today’s mani was first inspired while I was filling my car up with gas…you can probably guess where I was. As I started polishing, I immediately thought of my daughter’s rubber spiky earrings. So I combined the general design and color pallete of the gas logo with the texture of her spiky earrings and this is what I got.

I started withe OPI Alpine Snow underwear on all my nails. Then I polished my pinkys, middle fingers and thumbs in China Glaze Sun-Kissed. I used I’m with the Lifeguard on my pointer and added another coat of white to my ring finger. After a coat of Seche Vite, I dabbed a large dollop of I’m with the Lifeguard in the corner of my ring finger and blew on it until it was tacky. Then I took a small, stiff brush to pull the lines out from the center (adding more polish when necessary). Basically creating a big, messy, disorganized green spike. Once that dried, I repeated the step with Sun-Kissed in the middle.

I didn’t use a final topcoat to avoid smoothing out any any of the “peaks”. Don’t do this mani if you can’t be ginger with your accent fingers for awhile, because they are thick, and dentable.  I like how this looked when finished.  I got a lot of compliments on it.  I think it would also be cool with neon purple and neon orange.
