Hello everyone. I am neck deep in moving boxes. My polish stuff got packed and moved, but not unpacked yet. So no mani today. Plus, I suffered a massive nail break. I haven’t broken a nail in like 6 months! The funny part is that my husband and daughter both gasped when they saw it. They were as horrified as I was. LOL.
Thanks to all of you who have voted for me in the CosmoProf “Are You Nail Obsessed?” Contest. I’m currently in third place!! You can vote once per day per facebook account (unfortunately, you must vote from a computer; it won’t work from an iPad or phone). Check out the entries here and if you like mine best, please vote (or vote again)! [My entry is called Sidewalk Glam]. Please also consider following me on Facebook while you’re there. :)
Today I thought I’d share something different again. In the new house I have a whole room to myself for polish. I call it my “The Mani Cave”. It’s similar to a “Man Cave”…well, not really at all. But you get the idea. It will likely be the last room in the house to get decorated. However, that’s not stopping me from dreaming. I have Pinterest Boards for Cool Nail Salons and Polish Stash Storage. It’s fun to think of the possibilities. Here are two of my favorites:
I like the pink velvet chairs! And that lamp! I wonder if you hung it really low and put a daylight bulb in it if it would work like a lightbox? (via The Aestate)
I must be attracted to the white look, huh? I bet I could recreate something similar at Ikea. (via Habachy Designs)
I’m also trying to find cool polish racks. I really like having everything up on the wall…its like artwork. I organize my polish by brand and then color. So the downside of a wall rack system (versus a Helmer or any drawers) is that you really have to put in an effort to rotate polishes whenever you get anything new. Personally, I find the polish rack organizing to be just as fun as the manis! I may see if the hubs can build me something custom.
If you run across any neat polish rooms or storage systems, please let me know! I’d love to see your ideas.
