Time for Whimsy: Revlon Whimsical
Simple post today for my sad nails. They are in such bad shape from the move. I needed to cheer them up. Revlon Whimsical was released in Fall 2011 and was immediately a hot ticket (a dupe for Deborah Lippmann’s Glitter in the Air). As is often the case, I was totally clueless about that fact when I picked it up at Ulta. Whimsical has a super sheer, milky, dusty, blue base with blue and pink micro and hex glitters. It’s so sheer, in fact, that you can’t even tell it’s blue without undies. It has an almost ethereal quality to it. (Did I just say that about a nail polish?) This mani is two thin coats.
It’s just so dainty. My photos are a bit washed out (I’m experimenting with window lighting in the new house) but it really is that light and delicate in person.
Here’s a close up of the bottle. I’m surprised we don’t see more polish like this. Sometimes it’s a welcome break from the glitter bombs.

When I first got this polish I tried to apply it to opacity and quickly learned- it ain’t happening. Haha. I ended up layering it over some different blues and decided SC Cinderella was my favorite. It’s such a pretty color I just wish it was a tad more opaque, but hey- if you like the sheer look then this is perfect!!! :) There’s no arguing against how pretty it is. ;)

I bought this awhile ago but I haven’t yet worn it. You make it look so pretty! I thought I’d have to figure out some way to layer it (which I’m not great at), but on you it seems wearable as is!! :D
