I hope you all had a great Labor Day Holiday! My long weekend was extended a few days as I battle the flu. Fortunately, my nails look better than I feel (which isn’t saying a whole lot…but hey, it’s something). Today I have a simple mani of OPI My Very First Knockwurst from the Fall 2012 Germany Collection. In case you’re curious (I was), knockwurst is the heavily seasoned cousin of bratwurst, or brats. When you have that in mind, then the name of this polish actually makes sense. It’s a beigy, slightly pink, neutral creme. I added a pebblestone stamp (BM-211) to my ring finger in Konad Black.
The color is just a touch too pink for mannequin hands on me. But very pretty. It’s perfect for the office and looks nice and clean on my pale skin tone. You could probably wear My Very First Knockwurst for days and days as tip wear and chips would be hard to see. I love black stamping on pale pink nails. I seem to do a lot of stamping when my nails are short.
I did have trouble with application…a little lumpy. I had to flood the sides of my nails to get color near the “gutters”. It cleaned up easily though and was opaque in two coats. I will thin it before I use it next time.
