Fishnet A-England Ascalon
Ascalon was another A-England polish in my last over-the-big-pond nail mail. It’s really a cool polish. A steely gray scattered holo duochrome that shifts to lavender. This really wows in the sunlight…my indoor photos don’t do it justice! I hadn’t done any full nail stamping in awhile; so I used Konad plate M-57 and Konad Special Nail Polish in black to stamp a fishnet pattern. I love the look of a black pattern stamped over any fine glitter or holo.
Here’s a few shots of Ascalon by itself. My photos don’t capture any of the lavender! But it’s in there, I promise!

Wonderful! I should take a look at that polish. I think I need more a-england in my life :)
Yes! Of course!
Its gorgeous, very professional looking too.
Thanks! I almost wore this one to work.
why didn’t you? I would have. What is your job if you dont mind me asking?
I work for a consulting firm. Our consultants are all former high-ranking military officers and our customers are generally government officials. I can get a little brave if I don’t have a meeting…but if I’m seeing a client, then I try to keep it simple. I can’t have a holo polish catching the LCD projector light during a presentation! LOL
Yes, I can see how that would be a problem lol.
Omgosh, that’s awesome! So pretty! XD
Thanks, Elizabeth. Love your Storm and Electra swatches today!
<3 :)
Oooh pretty! This looks just like my Butter London Dodgy Barnett polish. Would you happen to know if maybe it’s a dupe?
Hi Cindy. Good question. No dupe. This has a similar finish as Dodgy Barnett (i.e., the amount of holo) but the A-England is more charcoal gray and the Butter London is more silver/pale gray. I did a post on Dodgy Barnett…and you can see the difference, I think.
Your posts found me on the A-England site and putting bottles in my cart. And I don’t polish my nails, but the colors are beautiful. I could go for a mani room just for the wall of colors alone. :)
LOL. The hunt for the polish (research, online shopping, nail mail packages) is just as fun as the mani! But bring those new A-England’s to my house and I’ll “inspect” them for you! :)
You ever do any posts about stamping? I want to Try it out but dont know which stamp kit is best. Do They all require special polish or can u use a favorite thick pigmented polish too?
Stamping is hit or miss with me still. I use a Konad stamper but lots of different image plates. (Sometimes I just can’t get an image to stamp no matter how hard I try!) Konad brand polish works most consistently for me but any one-coater quick dry will do.
Thanks a bunch nail lady :)
lovely! and your nails are so perfectly shaped :)
Thanks, Kelli!
