Mocha Fishtail with A-England and Essie
I gotta tell ya…I’m not cartwheeling over today’s mani. It just doesn’t have the oomph I was expecting. Instead it has this mushy, soft, hot cocoa feeling to it…which is good too…just not what I was after. I used the popular fishtail technique. There are tons of great tutorial videos out there. (Here is the one I followed.) For my three colors, I chose Essie Jazz, Essie Cool Merino and A-England Galahad.
In spite of my unrealized expectations…this is still a really pretty, strangely neutral mani. I wore it for two whole days! [shocker]
There’s a lot you can do with this design. I’d like to try a version with just one color but three finishes…like matte, shiny and glitter. Anyone ever tried that?

Beautiful colour choice as always! I’ve only tried the fishtail mani once and the polishes I chose were not ideal. I’ll have to try again after seeing how gorgeous this one is! :D

yeah, not sure why you aren’t crazy about this one – I think it looks fantastic. I like the colours a lot. It’s soft and pretty. I think your idea for the same colour with three different finishes would be amazing too. Can’t wait to see what you come up with. :)

i think the colors on the fish tails are “serious” enough to go to work.. well.. i work in an advertising agency i can wear whatever i want, but i have some clients that are too corporative to let me be free, like the biggest university in my country, this manicure, will be the kind of manicure I would use to meet them.
