NEW JulieG Limited Edition Frosted Gum Drops Collection!

Disclosure: I was compensated by the manufacturer for these photographs but the opinions in this post are my own.

I apologize in advance. I’m going to be obnoxious today. I’m soooo excited about today’s news because I’ve been bursting to share it with you for a few reasons – most importantly…I love this polish!!! It’s the NEW JulieG Limited Edition Frosted Gum Drops Collection!

JulieG Limited Edition Frosted Gum Drops Collection

First, the backstory. In early January, Jesse’s Girl Cosmetics contacted me and asked if I’d like to shoot a photo for their new JulieG limited edition textured polish collection called Frosted Gum Drops. The photo would be used in the collection’s displays at Rite Aid stores nationwide. I replied calmly (to THE real-life Jesse), “Why, yes, I would be very interested.” And then I hung up the phone and jumped and screamed and embarrassed my family. If you don’t know her, you should. JulieG (JulieG713) is a top beauty vlogger (over 400K subscribers!!!). She’s also the first blogger/vlogger to get her very own mainstream nail polish line. So naturally, as a polish blogger, I’m semi-obsessed with her story. And I just knew her polish would be good! This collection was the TOP SECRET PROJECT Julie mentioned in her video a few weeks ago (a little after the 7-minute mark).

JulieG Limited Edition Frosted Gum Drops Collection

So fast forward to today. Jesse’s Girl is graciously letting me be the first to post about it! The Limited Edition Frosted Gum Drops collection consists of six candy-colored, textured polishes in fun and daring shades from gummy red to berry blue. JulieG’s Frosted Gum Drops need no top coat and shine with a matte finish.

  • Hot Cinnamon: Hot-red with a glitter finish
  • Rock Candy: Teal infused with silver glitter
  • Blueberry Fizz: Berry blue mixed with shiny silver glitter
  • Crushed Candy: Pure purple with silver sparkle appeal
  • Sugar Rush: Bright reddish-pink with pops of gold glitter
  • Tangerine Dream: Citrus orange with specs of sparkle

These beauties will be available soon at Rite Aid stores nationwide and on the Jesse’s Girl website (THEY SHIP INTERNATIONALLY TOO!). The best part? They retail for only $3.99!

I’ve tried a few textured polishes now and these really do stand out. First…the bright, vibrant colors! What we’ve seen from OPI and Zoya have been darker or more muted. Milani’s textured polishes are vibrant, but the finish is different. The Frosted Gum Drop polishes each have a unique silver or gold glittery shine. The effect is very cool. Plus, out of all the textured polishes I’ve tried, these were by far the easiest to apply. I still can’t believe they’re only $3.99!

And finally, here’s a photo of the display which will be in Rite Aid stores soon. See those fingers? Those nails? They’re mine! In spite of my blabbing on and on about it, I really am quite humbled by it. It’s the coolest “nail thing” to happen to me since I started blogging. And here’s a fun fact – the polishes arrived nameless. I didn’t learn the names of each color until today!

JulieG Frosted Gumdrops Collection (Spring 2013)

Jesse’s Girl isn’t carried at Rite Aid stores in my area (Southwestern Ohio – specifically the Dayton area). But commenters tell me JulieG IS available in the northwest area of the Ohio market near Cleveland. So I’ll have to take a road trip to see the display in person. If any of you are out and about and see it (expect it in the March/April timeframe), please take a photo for me! :)

Yay! So awesome! Way to go!!
    I love these colors too!!

  2. Robin says:

Too bad they took your photo and cropped it to put over the giant gumdrops. You photo alone looks so much better!

  3. blimbo2005 says:

wow the polish is spot on. it makes me think of my grandma who always had the candy around

  4. Reblogged this on Add a Little Polish … and commented:
I just discover work/play/polish! She is incredibly talented and creative, and I love that she supports other YouTuber’s! You should definitely go check her out!

  5. Lacqueerisa says:

Love them!! really does look like candies! Gosh, I sure wish awesome polishes like these are more available in my country (for affordable price as well!) Sigh!!

  6. eklinman says:

that is incredibly exciting! I’ve been wanting to try textured polish, but just didn’t want to pay a lot for a polish I might not like. Which of the colors was your favorite overall?

    • That’s a tough question. The only one you don’t see at all in my pics is Tangerine Dream. They are all very beautiful and actually impossible to pic a favorite!

      • K. Edwards says:

What color is on your middle finger, if not Tangerine Dream?

      • Well, now I’m second guessing. Remember, I don’t have the names on the bottles. I’m pretty sure the middle finger is Sugar Rush (second from the right in the lineup and third from the left in the display) Tangerine Dream is a much lighter orange.

      • I’m pretty sure the orangey color on your nails IS Tangerine Dream. The bottle photos make it look more yellow than it is, at least on a white background (it looks different on a black background!). From what I can tell, from thumb to pinkie, you’re wearing Blueberry Fizz, either Hot Cinnamon or Sugar Rush (I haven’t seen these two in person yet so I’m not sure!), Tangerine Dream, Crushed Candy, and Rock Candy.

      • It’s hard when your bottles don’t have names on them – it’s even harder when you don’t have any bottles in front of you to work from! ;) I’m still jealous that you got your hands on these before I did!

  7. These are gorgeous! I’d love to try them.
Congratulations on getting one of your awesome photos used :)

  8. iriel says:

    Wow congratulations!!!
I don’t know if I should wear these polishes, I might eat my fingers, I’m kind of addicted to frosted gum drops! The polishes look very bright and I really like that :D

    • I love the brightness about them! That’s the first thing that struck me. See, when I got these in January, no one had their hands on PixieDust or Liquid Sand yet – so I didn’t really know what to expect.

  9. KD says:

I haven’t really cared for the looks of the other collections that have come out with this finish, but these look so good! I’m definitely going to get Hot Cinnamon and Tangerine Dream, I think they are going to be great summer colors!

  10. Krista says:

Wow I love them! I think a road trip is definitely a good idea!

  11. gnarlygnails says:

  19. karen says:

Julie’s nail polishes are carried in Ohio Rite Aids. I’ve bought them there before. I’m on the west side of Cleveland. They’re there.

  23. holy crap! that’s so awesome. i’ve love julie for so long and all of her polishes are awesome. now i need these too.

  24. joybrewed says:

I am loving these!! Will be on the look-out at our nearest Rite-Aid! ;)

  25. Oh My darling, this is exciting news!!

Congratulations and I absolutely am not shocked. You totally deserve to be seen Nationwide!
Your swatches look awesome, and I quite agree, Your nails should be the center piece, not put up high on the giant gum drops. Lol…
Ok, Maybe I’m being partial to you here but You can’t blame me.. AMAZING swatches lady!!!

    Looking forward to these.

  26. Coco says:

Such adorable packaging and marketing. I much prefer it to labeling this texture as concrete (like the Barry M) xx

    • I couldn’t agree more, Coco! This thought actually crossed my mind. Especially heading into summer. Concrete polishes make me think of concrete bricks tied to someones legs then getting thrown into the ocean. Ok. LOL….maybe I took that too far. But you know what I mean. :D

  27. These are gorgeous!!! I’ll have to order some of them when they go up online! Beautiful pictures! : )

  28. That is really so awesome, congratulations!

The polishes really do look amazing too, not sure if we will get these in Canada, but I can cross my fingers.

    Way to go girl!

  29. craftynail says:

  35. Such a great looking polish! Loving the green shade – thanks for sharing :D

  36. satine89 says:

Oh Gosh, they are so pretty and funny! <3 Our italian brand Kiko is selling a type of polish very similar to this! Hopefully I can buy some of them and show swatches on posts to come!

  37. 9 to 5 Nails says:

I love Julie g I’m a long time subscriber to her YouTube channel and I love how the jesses girl polishes are so affordable. I’ve got a few but none from the Julie g collection. Definitely wanting to get some soon just need to get some other most wanted polishes out of the way!! P.S: now I want some sweets lol and it’s midnight here right now.. So probably not a good idea.

  38. That’s fabulous, so proud of you & congrats! It’s great to see mainstream brands collaborate with bloggers, at least people take you seriously in the US :)

    • Yulia, I don’t know how I missed your comment my first time through. It’s been such a great appearance to have other bloggers be excited for me. I hope this is a sign of the times and more companies will see the benefits of engaging with the blogging community – both in the US and abroad! Thanks for reading. :)

  39. YOU ARE SO AWESOME!!! Yes, I’m shouting! :-D

  40. Accessory says:

Wish they would sell these in the netherlands! They look so gorgeous :-)

  41. Such a fun collection! I cannot wait to get my hands on them! They will definitely be fun to blog about!

  42. Holy cow, Leslie! You’re getting famous big time! You deserve the fame! Love your pics. And of course I’d love to have these polishes :D

  43. OK, just looked at all these photos again. It’s official — I’m going to buy every one of the polishes. We don’t have a Rite Aid at all so I’ll order them online as soon as I can! <3

    • Yes! You must! I have a Rite Aid right down the street – but no Jesse’s Girl. Boo. I was thinking about picketing or petitioning or asking to speak to the manager. LOL.

  44. OMG, CONGRATS!! That’s an amazing opportunity AND the polishes are to die for. Way to go :D

  45. Josephine says:

Wow, yummi! Your nails look gorgeous dressed in these pretties!

  46. Tes Stobaugh says:

How awesome!!! Congratulations!!! You deserve it! <3 <3

  47. LawOfPolish says:

Reblogged this on Law of Polish and commented:
    So Pretty….

  48. That is so cool! Congratulations!

  49. Ugh!! No Rite Aids anywhere in my area…looks like I’ll be stalking the website! Fabulous photos, and so cool that they used for the display! Congrats!!

    • It has certainly been fun. I’m in a different boat. We have Rite Aids around here (one just right down the road) but none in the area carry Jesse’s Girl. So I might be stalking the site right a long with you. :)

  50. Deborah says:

Congrats babe, so cool this happened to you! And yes, these look very pretty and bright :). Too bad they aren’t sold here :(.

  51. Lori Robbins says:

I just discovered your blog. I love it. I hope they get these on the website soon. I do not have Rite Aid where I live.:(

    • Hi Lori. I’m glad you found me! I believe they’ll be available on the website before you can get them in stores. So we’ll all be tracking the website at the same time. LOL

  52. Hi! I love reading your blog, and just wanted to let you know I think you deserve the Sunshine Award! Read more about it here: http:/kaitlynseigneuray.wordpress.com/2013/03/03/more-about-that-sunshine-i-mentioned/ :)

  53. Olivia says:

    Genius collection and branding! Congrats!

    • I didn’t do any of the genius stuff, Olivia. I just slapped on the polish and took a pic. The company was amazing to work with so all around it’s been a great experience.

  54. cosmeticaitlin says:

I enjoy reading your blog and I am nominating you for the One Lovely Blog Award! I have also listed your blog on http:/cosmeticaitlin.com/2013/03/03/one-lovely-blog-award/

  55. Deidra Johnson says:

These look great! I think I prefer these over the Milani ones! :-)

  56. Kellie says:

Well that’s very exciting news, they look awesome, and I’m friends with Jesse’s daughter Christine, they are a awesome family, very warm and kind, so congratulations and I’m looking forward to getting these.

  57. Niki Patel says:

How many coats did you apply? Also, how difficult is it to remove the polish? I’m thinking about pre-ordering! :)

    • This is two coats each. It’s a little more difficult to remove than regular polish – but still easier than most full-on glitters. I didn’t use the foil method, but I did use acetone. I hope that helps.

  58. Misty says:

I just discovered your blog today when I googled about this collection. You have beautiful nails! I got SO excited when I read that you live in the Dayton area…ME TOO! Feels good to know other polish lovers are close! I feel like I have seen this brand at a rite aide..not sure. If I do see it around here I will let you know! :)

    • Yeah, Misty! A fellow Daytonian! I’m glad you found me. Yes, please let me know if you see it in a Rite Aid in town and I will race on over!

      • rach says:

Daytonians! Rite Aid in Brookville carries Jesse’s Girl/JulieG polish. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen Jesse’s Girl stuff at the one across from the Kroger Marketplace store on Union Road (Englewood) too.

  59. Lisa Escobedo says:

Congrats and thanks for sharing. Just ordered mine, but shhh, don’t tell my hubby!! ;)

  60. Cal says:

I was on the fence regarding the textured polish trend but these look really good on you! Really resemble gum drops, haha…tempted to order them but dreading the international shipping costs….

  61. Courtney says:

This is so exciting! The colors look awesome. just wish there was a green and white like the gum drops. I love Julie G and her polishes. I too live in the southwestern Ohio area. In Cincinnati so no availability here. Guess i will be getting them off line.
