Hello friends! Happy Tuesday. So you know that saying about “the best laid plans…”? Well that was me last week. I had every intention of powering through my swatch pile. But between preparing for my Rite Aid appearance in San Diego this past weekend and a bout of pink eye in the WPP household (eeew! Thank goodness it wasn’t me!) – I didn’t get much blogging done. So this week and next will be filled with swatches. But never fear, nail art lovers, I have something super exciting in the works. I promise that before this month is over, you’ll have more awesome nail art then you’ll know what to do with! And all for a good cause…so stayed tuned!
Today I have some beautiful glittery toppers from Sally Hansen’s Complete Salon Manicure (CSM) Bling in the New Year Collection (see original press release here). I’m a big fan of the CSM line. Each polish has a base coat, strengthener, color and top coat built right in. I always use a top coat no matter what…but I do find the CSM shades all have a pretty incredible gel-like shiny finish. My swatches have the glitters layered over shades from the new Sally Hansen Triple Shine line (swatches of those coming soon).
Fa-la-la-lavender has a combination of lavender pink and periwinkle purple glitters in a clear base. I used one coat over Sally Hansen Triple Shine Vanity Flare. I love this base with this topper!
Twinkle Toes-ty includes hexes and micro glitters in holographic gold in a clear base. The result is multi-colored flashes of pink, blue, green, silver…and more. My swatch is one slightly dabbed coat of Twinkle Toes-ty over Sally Hansen Triple Shine Reef Raf. This is gorgeous!
The next one is Midnight Glitz. It has black and holo gold microglitters and gold and black hexes in two sizes. I chose Sally Hansen Triple Shine Oyster Bar as a base. I like this combo, but I think it would be even more spectacular over solid black! This one was the least dense of the collection.
And the last topper in this four-part collection is the cleverly named 3-2-1derland. Oh to be a nail polish namer! This one has deep blue and blue-green glitters. It’s very ocean-esque. I’ve used one coat over Sally Hansen Triple Shine Kelp Out (how appropriate is that?)
Here are some quick tip-swatches so you can see each glitter on it’s own.
I had no issues with formula. All Sally Hansen CSM polishes have a unique, flat precision brush. I found it to be perfect for applying these glitters (more glitter bombs need a flat brush like this!) I was able to dab and swipe at the same time with even coverage.
