It’s Friday! Woot! That first full week back to the grind after the holiday season is tough. But at least we had FRIGID temperatures in the Midwest to make things exciting! Speaking of cool (groan…cheesy segue), I have the Misa Winter 2013/2014 Collection to show you today. The “We’re cool. So cool. This is how cool.” Collection (original press release here) consists of three wintery blue-based shades…perfect for the season! As I’ve come to expect, the Misa formula was flawless. And these colors are so pigmented and rich.
Winter Bluesy Blues, is a deep, but bright blue. It has a slight translucence about it…totally creamy opaque, but with depth. The squishiness reminds me of Orly Shockwave (which isn’t nearly as punchy and bright as this Misa). The color is so intense. After I polished my nails, I literally exited The Mani Cave and went into the other room to show my husband. (He was not as enthusiastic as I was…LOL).
This is Icy River. It’s a dense blue-leaning purple. The formula was stellar. My swatch is two easy coats.
And finally, Misa describes Foggy Breath at 3 a.m. as a “cool and earthy blue with a light touch of warm violet.” When I got the press release…I was suspect. How can something be cool and warm at the same time. But I get it. It really is! This shade is really lovely and unique!
Wear a base coat and polish far from the cuticle line! As with many blues, these can be stainers (especially Foggy Breath!) I’ve said this before, but I believe Misa is waaay under-appreciated as a polish brand. Maybe it’s because they aren’t widely available? But seriously, every one I’ve tried has had a spectacular formula, their colors are on point (um…did you see the Fresh & Fruity Spring Collection last year?!) and I love how their cap feels in my hand.
Do you have any Misa polish? Have you had the same incredible experience?
