So I rarely do this. And I’m sincerely apologizing in advance…but the polishes I’m going to show you today aren’t currently available (and frankly, I’m not sure if they’ll be restocked at some point.) I received these pretties in a totally unexpected (but still made me do the happy dance) package in November…with a full blog schedule already booked for many weeks out (in addition to the 2-week Polished Girlz Guest Post Series). Even though this delay means you can’t get your hands on these particular polishes (now anyway), I decided to post nonetheless because this is my first-ever experience with Colors by Llarowe and I was not disappointed! I figured this post can at least serve as my endorsement of the polish line and my recommendation to try anything Leah Ann releases in the future! Plus, the new Llarowe website has launched and we can all celebrate that! Am I right?!
The first two polishes, Silver & Gold, are from the Xmas/Hanukkah 2013 Collection and were sold together as a two-polish set (both bottles are labeled Silver & Gold on the bottom). Both are intense linear holos. The silver is bright, but deep. This is my absolute fave this bunch! My swatch is two coats and no topcoat (because I forgot!).
The golden sister in the Silver & Gold duo is a deeper, yellow gold. This was seriously blingy in the light! I used two coats. No topcoat here either…to be “fair”. LOL.
Rico Suave is from the Winter 2013 Collection (released at the same time as above). It’s a foresty green/steely blue duochrome with a golden shimmer and the finest red sparkles. It’s really a chameleon. My swatch is two coats.
Bubs Don’t Make Bubbas is from the Redneck Woman Collection. It has a deep brown-red jelly base and is filled with a rainbow of holo glitters. It’s super sparkly. My photo definitely doesn’t do it justice! It goes on a bit gritty in the first coat, but smooth in the second. This swatch has one coat of topcoat.
Runt is a pretty, peachy pink holo. This one was part of the very first Colors by Llarowe release! The formula was really nice. My swatch is three thin coats and no topcoat.
And last, but not least...Leathers & Lace is a fine, holo topcoat that can renovate any polish to a holo finish. I did a dusty-ish skittle mani as my base using all Zoya: Kelly (pointer), Demi (middle), Rocky (ringer and thumb), and Brigitte (pinky). It really did transform the polish and in only a single coat. My fave is over the blue. Leathers & Lace was released as part of the Fall 2013 Collection, but it’s listed as “Out of Stock” on the site, so maybe there’s a chance it will make a return!
I discovered after I was finished swatching that a setting on my camera was off…so the pics aren’t as tack sharp as usual. But trust me, these are beautiful shades and finishes, and all have an excellent formula.
Colors by Llarowe retail for $10 to $14USD each depending on the finish. Buy Colors by Llarowe and all your fave indies at the new shop here and follow Leah Ann on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for news, promotions and pretty pics!
