The ILNP 2014 Summer Collection is Available Again! Holo Swatches and Review

press samples

I’m actually on an airplane this very minute…headed to Los Angeles. If you’re in the area, please come out and see me tomorrow at the Rite Aid Beverly Hills grand opening and get your nails did! All the details are here.

Wowza! ILNP polishes fly of the shelves, don’t they? Well if you missed out on the 2014 Summer Collection the first time around, they’re available again in the ILNP Store. Barbra has done her usual magic with holo and ultrachrome finishes.  I used two of the holos in a gradient (see it here) and today I have swatches of the five straight holos in this release. My lighting setup doesn’t do these beauties justice…so you’ll have to trust me. :)

First up is Purple Plasma. Gah. I’m speechless. This intense purple holo has a hint of red and gold sparkle that’s tough to see in my shot but it’s there. This is two easy coats.

ILNP Purple Plasma

Bikini Bottoms is a no-brainer winner for me. Mix a vibrant magenta pink and a strong holo and I’m in love. Barbra says this one took awhile to get right. Well it was worth it. It looks much deeper in low light (like in the pic below) than in the bottle shot on the ILNP site. Really it’s beautiful in any light. Two coats.

Funshine Smoothie is a vivid, yellow holo with a subtle golden shimmer. I’m not a huge fan of yellows (they don’t agree with my skin tone), but I’ll make an exception here. The color is clean, the formula is golden, but bright…and the holo gives it an extra kick. My swatch is three coats.

Rehab is a deep teal holo that leans more green than blue. It’s gorgeous…so saturated. And very rainbowy. My camera didn’t know what to do with it! This is two coats.

And the last (but certainly not the least) is Summer Stargazing. ILNP describes it as an electric blue. The shade of blue is stunning and the holo effect is strong. This is two coats. Love it!

Every polish in this release is amazing. There are also ultra chromes and holo ultra chromes…but I’ve decided that my uncooperative fingers simply can’t model the color change (try as I might to get all five nails to hit the light at different angles like Barbra does so artfully!)  All swatches were finished with one coat of G&G HK Girl Topcoat.

I Love Nail Polish holos, cremes, glitters and jellies retail for $10 each. Ultra Chromes and Holo Ultra Chromes are $12.50. The Summer Collection is available now in the ILNP store. Be sure to follow ILNP on FacebookInstagramPinterest, and Twitter to get the scoop on news and promotions!

Have I ever told you how beautiful your swatches are? They are art. Wall-hanging worthy.

In case anyone is tempted by ILNP, but shying away because of the price – Barbara sends out 25% off coupons a couple months after your previous purchase. For me in Canada [on a 4-5 bottle order], it usually pays for the shipping or a polish, and a couple dollars more. Cheaper than the pre-sale if you can wait.

I got all of these in presale. My Stargazing broke in transit and I was promptly sent a new one. These holos are great, and ILNP’s Barbra is awesome. I think your pix make them look better than they look on me! I hope your trip goes well! :)

How about an update on The Mani Cave? I have followed its progress enviously!
