The NEW Sparks Fly collection includes the following four festive shades: Pretty ‘N’ Patriotic (white matte)
I’m actually on an airplane this very minute…headed to Los Angeles. If you’re in the area, please come out and see me tomorrow at the Rite Aid Beverly Hills grand opening and get your nails did! All the details are here.
Wowza! ILNP polishes fly of the shelves, don’t they? Well if you missed out on the 2014 Summer Collection the first time around, they’re available again in the ILNP Store. Barbra has done her usual magic with holo and ultrachrome finishes. I used two of the holos in a gradient (see it here) and today I have swatches of the five straight holos in this release. My lighting setup doesn’t do these beauties justice…so you’ll have to trust me. :)
First up is Purple Plasma. Gah. I’m speechless. This intense purple holo has a hint of red and gold sparkle that’s tough to see in my shot but it’s there. This is two easy coats.
Bikini Bottoms is a no-brainer winner for me. Mix a vibrant magenta pink and a strong holo and I’m in love. Barbra says this one took awhile to get right. Well it was worth it. It looks much deeper in low light (like in the pic below) than in the bottle shot on the ILNP site. Really it’s beautiful in any light. Two coats.
Funshine Smoothie is a vivid, yellow holo with a subtle golden shimmer. I’m not a huge fan of yellows (they don’t agree with my skin tone), but I’ll make an exception here. The color is clean, the formula is golden, but bright…and the holo gives it an extra kick. My swatch is three coats.
Summer Gradient with I Love Nail Polish (ILNP) Bikini Bottoms and Funshine Smoothie from the Summer Collection 2014
I do believe I’ve loved every single I Love Nail Polish (ILNP) I’ve ever tried. I only wish my photography setup could remotely do Barbra’s creations justice. But alas, my camera struggles (I once swatched and edited a bunch of ILNP holos and ultra chromes THREE separate times because the pics didn’t represent the polish!). But I assure you that they’re amazing and if you own any ILNPs, you’ll agree. There are two shades in the new summer collection that I knew I wanted to use together from the moment I saw them: Funshine Smoothie, a golden yellow holo, and Bikini Bottoms, a crazy intense pink holo. I had big plans to do some stamping over this gradient, but I was too in love with it to risk it. :)
My photos show the holographic sparkliness, but don’t quite capture the rainbow. I polished Funshine Smoothie over the entire nail and then used a makeup sponge striped with both colors to create the gradient. I wanted the nails to be more pink than yellow. I love this. It’s reminds me of a pink grapefruit for some reason (I know…it’s a stretch – but it’s seriously what comes to mind!)
I hope you snatched up a few of the 2014 Summer Collection polishes during the pre-order! The full release includes five bright, summery holos, three amazing ultra chromes and three they-might-have-magic-in-them holo ultra chromes. I have an idea for the blue (Summer Stargazer) and deep teal (Rehab) holos that I can’t wait to try. I need more time for polish! What does it mean when you contemplate taking a break from your nail blog so you can polish your nails more? LOL. [ILNP bottle images shots below...click to enlarge]
Happy Monday! I missed you on Friday. I got an awesome opportunity to do a cool nail polish-related somethin’ somethin’ so I was feverishly polishing all last week and this weekend for that. At some point, I can share it with you! :)
So today I’m super excited to give you a little sneak peek at a few Spring release polishes from I Love Nail Polish (ILNP). There will be eleven total polishes in the ILNP Spring Collection: 2 Ultra Holos, 4 Ultra Chromes and 5 pastel holos. I’ve always loved ILNP. Barbra executes everything she does…from formulas, to colors, to finishes and packaging…with absolute precision. This collection is no exception! I switched up my photos a bit. Multi-chromes are nearly impossible to photograph in my setup. So I ventured out-of-the-box and did some natural sunlight shots. Oh how I wish I could shoot like this all the time! All swatches are done without top coat.
Let’s start with the Ultra Chromes. This is Sirène. This teal-y chrome shifts to blue, violet and red. It’s even more amazing in person! My swatch is three coats.
Oh my goodness. If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram, you may have seen the EPIC nail mail I received from Barbra at ILNP awhile back. It’s no secret that I literally squeal over her polishes. Every creation is more fabulous than the last. I’ve been soooo backed up with swatch commitments and I knew the holidays would slow me down…so Barbra knew it may be some time before they made their appearance on WPP. But it’s been KILLING me to see all of these ILNP pretties just sitting there…waiting to be tried. I was looking at all the bottles lined up in a row and loved how four shades looked together. I took a cue from the Manicurator (who has done swatch posts with one matching accent nail) and put everything together in today’s post. All of these shades are STILL available in the ILNP store. :)
Molly…wow. You’re probably tired of hearing me say how much I like berry shades of polish. Add some ultra-sparkly holo and I’m sold. The finish is absolutely gorgeous! This one makes my heart melt. LOL.

This is a rare weekend post and it’s MASSIVE. Lots of swatching has been going on in the Mani Cave! I’m excited to show you all twenty-one (YES, 21!!) new releases from I Love Nail Polish (ILNP). ILNP is one of my favorite indies and Barbra, the brains (and muscle) behind the operation has been busy! I love me some glittery goodness, but I’ll always favor my beloved crèmes…and holos are a close second. So ILNP’s new collection of crèmes and holos had me at…um…crèmes and holos! Bonus: 3 duochromes too! There’s lots to see so I’ll keep the commentary to a minimum.

Today will be a rare day with two posts. I love Digit-al Dozen week – but I hate to delay swatching polish that deserves to be swatched! My third Digit-al Dozen bling mani will be posted this afternoon. Sorry in advance for SPAMMING my email subscribers!
If you follow me on Instagram, then you know I recently received a beautiful package of goodies from Barbra at I Love Nail Polish (ILNP). This was seriously like Christmas for me. I love ILNP nail polish (ILILNPNP - I need a bumper sticker!) Today I have four polishes from her new holographic line, three jewel-toned colors and one clear topcoat. All have an ultra-fine, scattered holo effect. It’s subtle…but not quite as subtle as my photos depict…my indoor shots don’t do the rainbow-y goodness justice. All four polishes really come to life in the sun.
First up is Grape Alicious. The name is perfect. It’s a deep, eye-catching Welch’s Grape Juice purple. It’s really spectacular outdoors. My swatch is three coats.

Nail art…finally! My first love. I do love swatching new polishes – but it’s nice to sit down and do one look and actually wear it for longer than 15 minutes! Today I have my first semi-tribal design. I say “semi” because it just came out a little friendlier than I imagined. LOL. I used two coats of I Love Nail Polish (ILNP) Concrete Sprinkles as a base (I’ll swatch some of the new ILNP holos in a separate post…prepare to love them!) For the design I used Art Club Nail Art Duo Pens in White and Royal Blue.
