Essie Bobbing for Baubles

My daughter believes that I throw the phrase “it’s my favorite” around a bit too much when talking nail polish. But I explain to her that “No. In fact, China Glaze Ruby Pumps IS my favorite true red jelly-based red microglitter.” So you see, the categories are endless. So believe me when I say that Essie Bobbing for Baubles is my new favorite!

Vivid Lacquer Have Fun Storming the Castle

Disclosure: Some products in this post were provided by the manufacturer, their PR firm or retailer for my review.

Today I have another pretty from Vivid Lacquer, Have Fun Storming The Castle. I love this one so it gets it’s very own post. Anni is so creative with polish and the names. I bet I’ve watched The Princess Bride at least 50 times in my lifetime!

Have Fun Storming the Castle (HFSC) is shimmery blue, gold and silver with larger blue and black glitters. You could probably get full coverage in 2-3 coats (which would be fabulous). I chose to do one thicker coat over a thin coat of Butter London Dodgy Barnett. Dodgy Barnett has a slight holo to it, but it’s really quite sheer in one coat. So the shimmer you’re seeing in my pics is coming from the single coat of HFSC.

Royal Jelly: Revlon Scandalous and China Glaze Skyscraper

I know, I know…real royal jelly is a creamy off-white paste, made by honey bees, fed to the queen bee and used in beauty products. However, my royal jelly looks like grape Smuckers and has glitter in it!

Dip Dye Nails: Sally Hansen Celeb City and Zoya Kristen, Skylar, Tallulah and Ibiza

Today I came across a recent post on the Wicked Nails blog called Polish Us Pink 2.  It’s a gorgeous “dip dye” look using a metallic silver as a base and a gradient of pinks. I see manis that I love all the time and say “Hey, I want to try that someday.” But this time I’m like “Yeah…um…I’d like to try that right now.” As in this very moment. LOL. So no less than 30 minutes after arriving home from the office…I was indeed recreating the look. Luckily for me, Rylee, the talent behind Wicked Nails, also produced a video tutorial (score!). You can see it here.

All that Glitters is Gold (Glitter)

Lately I’ve been a little obsessed with gold polish. Glitter, shimmer, foil…it doesn’t matter. I’ve stockpiled a few gold-on-gold manis and I decided to lump them into one sparkly, precious metal post.

First up is my all time favorite gold glitter polish, China Glaze I’m Not a Lion, with a dabbed stripe of Milani Jewel FX in Gold down the center of each nail. Protect your eyes…do not stare directly at the glitter!

No Plan with OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls

I went into this mani with absolutely no plan. I only knew I wanted to use my new nail art brushes and would start with My Boyfriend Scales Walls from the OPI Spiderman Collection. It seems like every nail art sample on the interwebs lately is incorporating this polish in some way. So I jumped on the bandwagon.
