A Leopard and its Stripes? Zoya Cho, Kristi & Raven

Today I have another super simple design (can you see a trend here?) I knew the three colors I wanted to use before I even knew what the design was! I chose Zoya Raven and Cho (I love black and nude together) and Zoya Kristi as a red accent. Then it just evolved into two leopard print accent nails and three nails striped in various widths.

Beggar’s Night Mani: A-England Ophelia

Trick or Treat is tonight in my town…in freezing rain. But I’m counting my blessings knowing there are lots of little ones on the East Coast who endured Sandy and may not get to Trick or Treat at all this year. My thoughts are with you all.

So of course I had a mani planned for Beggar’s Night! Doesn’t everyone? I’m sure the neighborhood kids will really appreciate it too when they receive their candy with a well-manicured hand! No? You’re probably right…but one doesn’t need an excuse for a mani anyway! Today I’m using the final polish from my last A-England order, Ophelia, to create a classic matte/shiny French manicure pioneered by Erika at Chloe’s Nails. Erika has been on hiatus from her blog for some time now – but there’s lots of good inspiration there. She’s a genius with the scotch tape!

All Together Now: The Zoya 2012 Ornate Collection

As I was doing my manis over the last week using the polishes from the Zoya Ornate Collection, I was sure to capture a swatch of each one. I thought I’d combine them all into one bonus post. In addition to each photo, I’ve included the description from the Zoya site and a link to the mani I used it in.

Check, Please: Zoya Electra and Storm

I’m still working my way through the Zoya Ornate Collection. Today I have Zoya Electra, a silvery, holographic bar glitter, and Storm, a full-coverage holographic black. These are both beautiful polishes. I haven’t been a fan of bar glitter in the past, but Electra reminds me of Christmas Tree tinsel…so big points for that! Today’s mani is a checkerboard pattern.

Orly Electronica Synchro

Disclosure: Some products in this post were provided by the manufacturer, their PR firm, or retailer for my review. For more information, please see my disclosure policy.

Up until a few days ago, my collection of Orly polish totaled an impressive one bottle. But that’s changed with the addition of the four polishes in the 2012 Electronica Collection. As a matter of fact, these polishes were my very FIRST delivery to the new house! Very exciting.

Orly describes this back-to-school collection as “technocolor…inspired by nature and machine.” There’s something for everyone here and it will easily take you from summer to fall to winter. Today’s mani uses the line’s dusty pink/burgundy multi-chrome called Synchro. I used a black striper in an attempt to elongate my poor, short nails! It’s a cool effect because it almost looks like I used different pinks between the black stripes.
