Envy and Ziv: a Zoya Christmas Sweater

Hi all! I’ve seen so many cool “Christmas Sweater” designs lately and I wanted to try one. After doing a bunch of practice stamps…I quickly realized that my nailbeds are just too small for elk. So I pressed ahead with a stamped, not-so-Christmasy, not-so-sweatery mani using Zoya Envy and Ziv.

OPI Designer Series Mystery

Today I have a simple swatch of OPI Designer Series (DS) Mystery. I was all primed and ready to put some serious gold dots on this baby…but after I got it on, I knew it didn’t need any fancy stuff.

The Mani Cave: Still workin’ the basics

First…big day today…Victoria of the Manicurator and I have launched a massive giveaway! Click the graphic in the sidebar to see the prizes and learn how to enter! Okay…on to the weekly Mani Cave update…

This past week, Mr. Workplaypolish and I started to install wainscoting around the perimeter of The Mani Cave (well, really HE started installing it and I popped in occasionally to tell him how awesome it looked). It may not seem like we got much done, but really we are light years ahead of where I thought we’d be (notice the use of the term “we”…I’ve officially declared this a family project). Before I show you our progress…here’s a shot of The Mani Cave carnage I’ve got going on right now. If you know me, then you know that this mess makes my head spin around on my shoulders!

PART 2: China Glaze Cirque Du Soleil Swatches & Review

Today I have the second half of the China Glaze Cirque Du Soleil Swatches. Yesterday I showed you the cremes and a jelly. The remaining six polishes are glitters and a shimmer.

Bend Over Backwards is a metallic, shimmery, coppery orange. The formula reminded me of China Glaze Magnetix – thick and creamy. The pic doesn’t do this polish justice. It has the same shimmer as Riveting from the Hunger Games Collection…super vibrant!

PART 1: China Glaze Cirque Du Soleil Swatches & Review

Happy Saturday! Today I have six polishes from the China Glaze Cirque Du Soleil Collection – the cremes and a jelly (?) Tomorrow I’ll show you the glitters and shimmers. So let’s jump right in.

Escaping Reality is a hot pink creme. You can never have too many hot pink cremes! We’re only a few weeks into Fall and already it seems like ages since I’ve worn a color like this! Formula was great on this one. I used two coats and a coat of Seche Vite. Without the topcoat, it has a satiny, rubbery finish…which is cool…but I was on autopilot and mindlessly slathered on the topcoat!

Sinful Colors Neptune

Shew…between my day job, daily posts and decorating The Mani Cave…my schedule is packed. I’d hoped to bring you the first half of the China Glaze Cirque Du Soleil Collection swatches – but I didn’t get that far. So instead I’m bringing you a swatch from the archives, Sinful Colors Neptune, a beautiful medium dusty blue with tons of silver shimmer.

Sally Hansen Red-y Response

Today I have a quick, simple mani to share. I’ve spent all of my free time on The Mani Cave…which is cramping my mani routine! But I’m just so excited to finally get started on it! I’ll post Mani Cave updates every Wednesday, so be sure to check back then!

So back to the mani. Today I’m sporting Sally Hansen Red-y Response. I hadn’t jumped on the magnetic bandwagon until I tried China Glaze Sparks Will Fly. I was mesmerized with the formula, but wasn’t quite sure if it was a magnetic thing…or just really awesome polish. The only way to tell was to try a different magnetic. Alas, that brings us to today.
