Misa Summer 2013 Fresh & Fruity Collection Skittles

On Monday I used my first Nails Inc. polish. And today I have another brand that’s new to me – Misa. I don’t know a lot about Misa, but what I’ve read has all been positive. I thought I’d see for myself and bought the Misa Summer 2013 Fresh & Fruity Collection (you know, because I can’t just buy one…I need the full set). The colors looked so nice lined up in a row together. Plus my cuticles are screaming “Stop swatching!” So I decided to do a pretty Skittles mani instead.

Digit-al Dozen Does Animal Week: JulieG Splotchy Neon Zebras

Woot! I made it through another Digit-al Dozen Week! I’m in awe of bloggers that do 30-day challenges! My final animal mani is a zebra stamp over a splotched neon base. I wish I could master the art of photographing neons because these JulieG’s are seriously neon! Does anyone know the secret?

OPI Berlin There Done That with Chevron Stamping

Disclosure: Some products in this post were provided by the manufacturer, their PR firm or retailer for my review.

The blog is seriously lacking in “work” posts. Let’s face it, work manis aren’t very exciting. For today’s post, I forced myself to come up with a nail art look that I could confidently (or perhaps covertly) get away with at work. In the process, I discovered my new fave neutral…OPI Berlin There Done That. I used two coats, then stamped a chevron pattern with VL006 and OPI My Very First Knockwurst. I finished it off with OPI You Don’t Know Jacques on the tips.

Houndstooth Stamped Mani with Zoya Farah, Carmen and Raven

More stamping today! Am I getting brave or what? I’m just so excited about these VividLacquer plates. Today I used the houndstooth pattern from VL005 (here’s a link to the plate in the VL Etsy Store). This look is entirely Zoya. The base is Farah, the red is Carmen and the black is Raven.

Facing My Nail Stamping Anxiety!

I haven’t done stamping in awhile. And you know why? It stresses me out. I go to all that trouble to polish perfectly, clean up, let my nails dry, take 42 tries to get a single image transferred to the stamper correctly…and then I hold my breath!! What if it doesn’t work? What if I choke? What if it’s crooked? What if it stamps perfectly and then the topcoat smears it? And don’t even get me started on stamping with more than one color. That’s crazy talk. People who can do that have special powers. Anyway, my order of Vivid Lacquer custom stamping plates arrived and I was so excited about them that I completely forgot about my stamping anxiety issues.

Envy and Ziv: a Zoya Christmas Sweater

Hi all! I’ve seen so many cool “Christmas Sweater” designs lately and I wanted to try one. After doing a bunch of practice stamps…I quickly realized that my nailbeds are just too small for elk. So I pressed ahead with a stamped, not-so-Christmasy, not-so-sweatery mani using Zoya Envy and Ziv.

Deconstructed French Manicure: OPI Second Honeymoon

I’ve had this mani in the queue for awhile. It’s just so snoring-boring that I’ve avoided posting it. But alas, work manis deserve their time in the spotlight too. So here’s my deconstructed version of a French manicure. The base is two coats of OPI Second Honeymoon. Then I stamped the square pattern from BM-204 in various positions on each nail with Konad Special Polish in White. I like this design…it’s a subtle way to rock some stamping.
