Vivid Lacquer Theoretically Spring Collection

Disclosure: Products in this post were provided by the manufacturer, their PR firm or retailer for my review.

Wow. This is my second post in a single day! I think that’s happened only once in the history of this blog. But today was important – I wanted to get you swatches of the new Vivid Lacquer Theoretically Spring Collection before they go on sale this week. I’m really digging these delicate pastel milky-based glitters lately, so I was excited to see this collection. You can probably get these opaque in 3-4 coats, but I’ve shown each swatch over a coordinating base. These are my fave VL’s ever!

First up is Theoretical Blogger. It’s a creamy lavender base with darker purple and lavender multi-sized glitter. I’ve used two coats of Theoretical Blogger over two coats of Zoya Julie. So pretty!

Digit-al Dozen Does Love & Heartbreak: Vivid Lacquer Theoretical Rockstar

Disclosure: Some products in this post were provided by the manufacturer, their PR firm or retailer for my review.

Digit-al Dozen Theme Week was delayed this month so our Love & Heartbreak manis would coincide with Valentine’s Day. Whether you love this holiday or hate it, we have you covered. Since I tend to be a Valentine’s Day Lover and not a Fighter, I had to really force myself to do a few gloomy heartbreak manis…starting today. For some reason the combination of gray with messy black hugs and kisses says “heartbroken” to me.

OPI Berlin There Done That with Chevron Stamping

The blog is seriously lacking in “work” posts. Let’s face it, work manis aren’t very exciting. For today’s post, I forced myself to come up with a nail art look that I could confidently (or perhaps covertly) get away with at work. In the process, I discovered my new fave neutral…OPI Berlin There Done That. I used two coats, then stamped a chevron pattern with VL006 and OPI My Very First Knockwurst. I finished it off with OPI You Don’t Know Jacques on the tips.

More stamping today! Am I getting brave or what? I’m just so excited about these VividLacquer plates. Today I used the houndstooth pattern from VL005 (here’s a link to the plate in the VL Etsy Store). This look is entirely Zoya. The base is Farah, the red is Carmen and the black is Raven.

Facing My Nail Stamping Anxiety!

I haven’t done stamping in awhile. And you know why? It stresses me out. I go to all that trouble to polish perfectly, clean up, let my nails dry, take 42 tries to get a single image transferred to the stamper correctly…and then I hold my breath!! What if it doesn’t work? What if I choke? What if it’s crooked? What if it stamps perfectly and then the topcoat smears it? And don’t even get me started on stamping with more than one color. That’s crazy talk. People who can do that have special powers. Anyway, my order of Vivid Lacquer custom stamping plates arrived and I was so excited about them that I completely forgot about my stamping anxiety issues.

Vivid Lacquer The Evil Collection of Evil Swatches!

Today I have swatches of Vivid Lacquer’s newest collection, The Evil Collection of Evil! Anni, the brains behind Vivid Lacquer, is always so clever with her Collection themes. This one is inspired by Dr. Horrible’s Sing-a-Long Blog. They go on sale later this week!
