Zoya Stunning Swatches & Review

Disclosure: Products in this post were provided by the manufacturer, their PR firm or retailer for my review.

*You can WIN all of the polishes I’m swatching today, PLUS the six polishes from the Zoya Irresistible Collection in my Extreme Blog Makeover + First Blogiversary Giveaway! There’s just one week left to enter!*

I am a swatching machine lately! So many polishes…so little time! I showed you the Zoya Irresistible Collection last week. Today I have its sister collection, Stunning. The Stunning Collection consists of six crème polishes that scream summer. I love crèmes – so I was most excited about this set. One thing that’s not obvious in my photos is that four of these have a hint of shimmer!

I’ll start with my favorite. I’ll give you one guess what color it is. Yup…pink. Zoya describes Yana as a geranium pink and that’s a perfect description. I really liked this with my skin tone. You can almost see the shimmer in my photo. My swatch is two easy coats.

Digit-al Dozen Does Geek: Star Wars R2-D2 French Mani

Disclosure: Some products in this post were provided by the manufacturer, their PR firm or retailer for my review.

It’s Day three of Digit-al Dozen Geek Week. I love these challenges. I always grumble as the week draws near because it really does take some effort to produce five themed manis in a row…but I really do get inspired by the awesomeness of the other gals in the group. It pushes me to think. So in that vein, today I have a stylized Star Wars R2-D2 French Mani.

Zoya PixieDust Collection Swatches!

Yay! Zoya PixieDust Collection swatches! This collection has been one of the most highly anticipated in a long time. It consists of six matte, textured, sugary, sparkly polishes. I love this trend in nail polish. It’s super snazzy, yet there are a few in here I can still wear to work. And congrats to the “We Love Our Readers” Giveaway winner! She’ll have her own PixieDust Collection very soon!

I didn’t use a basecoat or topcoat for these swatches per Zoya’s instructions. I found application to be a little tricky – it requires an adjustment to how I’m used to applying dense glitters. (See my thoughts on that at the end of this post).  Also, you won’t reach full sparkliness until the polish is completely dry. I waited about 15 minutes after the last coat before I took these pics. I’m not gonna lie…these were tough to capture on “film”. Even though my blog jumps around, I’ve linked the full-sized versions to each photo – so click to enlarge. Without further ado…

More stamping today! Am I getting brave or what? I’m just so excited about these VividLacquer plates. Today I used the houndstooth pattern from VL005 (here’s a link to the plate in the VL Etsy Store). This look is entirely Zoya. The base is Farah, the red is Carmen and the black is Raven.

Shimmer Polish Swatches Part 2

Disclosure: Some products in this post were provided by the manufacturer, their PR firm, or retailer for my review.

Today I have Part 2 of my Shimmer polish swatchathon. As you saw yesterday, Shimmer glitter combinations are very complex. Everytime I downloaded a photo from my camera, I found something unexpected. These polishes are seriously beautiful! I can’t wait to show you seven more.

Taylor has a deep red jelly base with red, green, purple and blue glitter. I’ve used two coats of Taylor over two coats of OPI Russian Navy. This is really unique. I love the final product.
